Olympia gym visit!

Image
Hello everyone, Last week My class and I went to Olympia gym. This was really fun and enjoyable. First of all, we went into the ballet room, and we took our shoes off. Then we went into the gym room and warmed up. After that, we got split into groups, and then went and did rotations. For the first rotation, We did swinging on bars and did some other activity using arm strength. The next rotation was rhythmic gymnastics, which including using hoops and balls and learning tricks to do with them. The rotation after that was going on the beams, and we had to hold pom-poms and avoid spiky objects. For the last rotation, It was a trampoline and we had to do all kinds of jumps! I really enjoyed this and thought it was very fun! Here is a photo: Thank you very much for reading. -Ruby

Image
Hello everyone,  last week the Hillary Hub and I went to a school camp to Wainui. Wainui is close to Akaroa.  We started off with the bus ride over there. I had a front seat next to Greta ( my friend ).  When we got there we went and had a look at our bunk rooms. Bunk Rooms: I had a very good bunk room in my bunk room I had my friends Maddie, Meg M and Hazel. It was a nice quiet bunk room. We got to sleep well although we did have noisy neighbours running around and giggling on the first night, but we did have good sleep. Activities: The activities were fun the one I was most scared about was abseiling. The one I was most excited for was Kayaking. High Ropes: I enjoyed learning how to belay and to feed to rope out and in, we also learned how to coil the rope. My favourite was probably feeding the rope through. The climbing part was a bit scary although I did not get to do much climbing as we had to take turns in a 4, overall I love learning how to do it all. Kayaking: I really enjoye

Hello everyone, Last week I posted a blog post about my personification poem. But this week I am posting about a new poem. I enjoyed learning about Tanka poem, this was a very different task to a personification poem. For this poem, you need to have 5 lines. For the first line, it is five syllables, for the second line, it is seven syllables, for the third line it is 5 syllables, for the fourth line it is seven syllables, and for the fifth line, it is seven syllables. Here is the Tanka poem I produced: Toucan The toucan screeched loud,  the toucan flew very high. It flew to Rome city, It saw all the sights of Rome, It wanted to stay but could not. Forest Poem!

Image
Hello everyone, This week as a class we made poems. The task was to make one about a forest. I felt that by looking at a few examples I was ready to go! This was a very fun task to do. I went into it trying to make my forest sound as sad and lonely as I could. Writing the poem I actually felt bad for poor forest I was writing about, it was also very creepy and gave me chills down my spine. Here is my poem! The Forest The forest creaks as it awakens, If you enter the forest you will be shaken. The twisty trees twist till you can not breathe, when the twisty trees stop it will make you heave. The leaves will cry for help, as their misery can not be helped when they yelp. The wolves will not howl any more, As their howls are tired out forevermore. When you enter this forest you will feel deep in sadness,   It used to be great but now it is badness. The sorrow of this forest lies forever in the darkness, deep in despair, the forest waits for som
